Designing Your Ad Through Google AdWord

If you are like the thousands of business owners who have decided to optimize their online presence by using Google AdWord to showcase products and services, then its important to consider the look and feel of your ad. There is relative freedom with this program when it comes to designing your ad but there are some obvious restrictions you need to keep in mind. Standard punctuation must be used throughout your ad. Exclamations are not permitted in your title and you must stay away from using unnecessary repeated punctuation. Of course you are allowed to use an exclamation mark in your ad but only one, so carefully consider what needs to be emphasized.

It is also not permissible to use all capital letters in your ads; the only concession to this is if you must use an acronym such as SEO Glasgow. It is also acceptable to use a capital letter at the start of each word in your domain name / URL address, for example www.HappyFootReflexology.com. As with any ad please make sure that your grammar and spelling are correct and avoid slang.

You will need to think carefully about what you want your ad to say, as there is a limit to the number of characters you can use. Be short and concise in getting your message across. The title of your ad is allowed to have a total of 25 characters, under that you have 2 lines of space with a limit of 35 characters each plus space for your domain name / URL address that is also no more then 35 characters. The reason behind this is it makes the ads more eye catching and effective. There are certain goods and products that Google AdWords will not advertise including miracle cures, drug tests, alcohol and explosives. Research other sites offering similar products to you and use them for inspiration. It’s a great way to promote your business.
