So because my husband is leaving for 45 days I have figured that I would hit the diet hard and try to be twenty/twenty five pounds lighter when he comes home. That's actually my goal weight.
I have already lost twenty pounds and have maintained that for six months but now I am ready to jump on the diet band wagon again and try to stay away from the ice cream for the next couple weeks.
Oh and this is a task. Because Ryan doesn't nap anymore it is so hard for me to find time for work out. But I have figured out a couple things that might help. And they might just help you too : )
- First thing is just walking in place in my living room when Ryan is busy playing without needing my help or attention. Even if it is just for five minutes at a time. This is how I lost the first twenty pounds because I just took it an hour at a time and tried to walk for ten minutes every time I got the chance.
- Writing EVERYTHING down! For me it is easier because it shows me really how much I am eating. Even writing down the handful of popcorn that I mindlessly eat while watching The Biggest Loser.
- Taking it one day at a time. Because if not I get so overwhelmed with what I ate yesterday or will eat tomorrow. And I am not one of those people who can plan out their meals because if I am suppose to eat Subway and just don't want it I won't eat it.
- Letting myself have an eating day once every two weeks. Because if not I will go insane!
- Hanging up the clothes that I want to get into and picturing how cute I will look in them : )
- Drinking more water. In the afternoon after I have done all my running around.
- Knowing that once I reach my goal I will not only be healthier but feel so much better about myself. I might even do that self portrait that Brandi wants everyone to do : )
So cross your fingers and wish me luck.
Do you have any other weight loss tips? If so I would LOVE to hear them!

Buy The Wiggles on DVD - preferably the early ones. Then your boy and you can dance together!! I did that with both girls and I lost a ton, plus we were doing it together so it wasn't like working out!
Happy for you. Good luck. My only tip is that I wait until the little one is in bed and hard core work out.

Those are some great tips! Here are some more:
1. Use a food scale! This will help with potion control.
2. Portion out snacks in little ziplocs so that you are not tempted to eat the whole bag.
3. Use measuring cups to portion food.
4. Cook using a grill (i.e. George Foreman Grill). It cooks fast and healthier.
Hope these help! Good luck!
Good luck!! These are good tips...I need to do the writing down thing too, I think it holds you more accountable. Tip: find a workout/walking buddy if you can, isn't it easier if someones doing it all with you!?
I'm not sure what I could add to that list. I think if you can accomplish those, you'd be losing more than 20 pounds ;) I also think it's great you found something to focus on while your hub's away.
Thanks for all the wonderful tips!
I have been thinking about getting a George Foreman Grill so I might look into that now : )
And I do have a work out buddy who just decided that she was going to do this with me! Thank God because it probably will be easier!
And I wasn't sure about the twenty. If it was shooting too low for what I am trying to accomplish : )
Good luck with meeting your goals! I empathize with you...my daughter doesn't nap either!
